It's a First in Gehlen Catholic's History -
Four Selected for All Iowa Honor Dance Team
For the first time in Gehlen Catholic's history, four Gehlen Catholic dance team members have been selected to perform on the All Iowa Honor Dance Team. They include Bre Kraus, Leah Ruhland, Sara Mayer, & Brittany Jaminet.
The four Gehlen Catholic dancers will join 220 other dancers from all across Iowa to perform during the halftime of the 3A boys' State Championships Game on Saturday, March 6, 2010. The Gehlen Catholic dancers will showcase their talents as part of the kick routine.
Moderator, Mrs. Ali Freking said, "I am so proud of the girls, considering this is their first year to try out and being from a small school. Half of our girls qualified."
The Gehlen Catholic Dance Team will compete again this year at State on Saturday, December 5th, in Des Moines. This year, the dance team will perform a kick and hip hop routine. The team, under the direction of Mrs. Freking & Mrs. Julie Langel, have been practicing since this summer. Please join them during the basketball season!
