Service is an integral part
of Gehlen Catholic's mission - from serving our community to serving
those around the world. Here are a few of the service projects
Gehlen Catholic students were involved in during the 2006-2007
school year:
Service and
ministry to parish shut-ins and nursing home residents
included Fall Service Day, Advent gift bags, Ash Wednesday
services, instrumental & vocal performances throughout the
community and local nursing homes;
Kids Against
Hunger, through student & volunteer support & efforts,
prepared over 280.000 meals that were shipped to Africa &
Honduras;
Freshmen "Pennies
from Heaven," project answered a family's prayer in
Honduras;
Mission Honduras
Continues to Change More Lives:
Students brought
fresh water to the villagers of Moya;

Seivert, honored by Siouxland Red Cross at the 2007
Siouxland Heroes Banquet;
Christian
Leadership Team:
Tied ribbons around
LeMars to welcome home the LeMars 113th Infantry of the
Iowa National Guard;
Served meals at the
Gospel Mission in Sioux City;
Responded to requests
from alumni and local residents;
Five Boys Scouts
received Eagle Scout honors;
Local missions
including Christian Needs Center & LeMars United Way;
K-6 students raised
money for five International Missions:
St. John's Provincial
House, Jalalabad, India;

Oaxaca Street
Children Grassroots, Mexico;
Project Zwadi, Inc.,
Tanzania; and
Holy Childhood
Association.
